slowfruit.net is located in the United States and is subject to its laws.
slowfruit.net does log connections from the following services: apache2, squid3, and ssh. We only keep IP logs if necessary for security. These logs are kept for an indefinite time (for now.)
Although, slowfruit.net keeps limited logs, all users consent to real-time interception pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 2511(2)(d) while using slowfruit.net.
Specifically, slowfruit.net's http server collects information from all http and https connections to slowfruit.net. Here's a sample line from our apache2 logfile:
[03/Dec/2013:04:55:57 +0400] 200 8760 "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0)"
As you can see we do not collect IP addresses of users connecting via http.
Slowfruit.net makes use of squid-cache. Here's a sample line from our squid3 logfile:
1386223187.908 0 127.0.0.1 TCP_MEM_HIT/200 ...
As you can see IP addresses of users are not collected. Infact they're actually anonymized.
We do log SSH login attempts. If you connect to this server via SSH your IP address will be logged. Here are some sample lines from auth.log:
Dec 5 03:00:00 slowfruit sshd: pam_unix(sshd:session): session closed for user poo Dec 5 03:00:00 slowfruit sshd: Accepted password for poo from 10.235.51.38 port 000 ssh2 Dec 5 03:00:00 slowfruit sshd: Invalid user poop from 10.235.51.34 Dec 5 03:00:00 slowfruit sshd: input_userauth_request: invalid user poop [preauth] Dec 5 03:00:00 slowfruit sshd: Failed password for invalid user poop from 10.235.51.34 port 000 ssh2
IP addresses with too many failed login attempts (via SSH) will be banned.
All commands that you run while connected via SSH are logged and stored in ~/.bash_history and the history command. Other programs that you run might also keep logs (consult documentation.)
slowfruit.net does use Google Analytics which might log IP addresses. We do not have access to IP logs kept by Google or any other third party service providers.
